U Value of Entrance Doors
The thermal performance of an entrance door is a critical factor in maintaining a comfortable and energy-efficient home. This performance is measured using a ‘U value’, a measure of the rate at which heat transfers through the door. Lower U values indicate better insulation.
Regulations stipulate that newly installed entrance doors must have a U value below 1.4, with the forthcoming Future Home Standard 2025 reduces this further, requiring U values to be below 1.0.
Fortunately, manufacturers have responded to these evolving standards with a wide selection of highly insulated entrance doors. These doors offer U values meeting current and future standards, in a wide range of colours and styles.
Our PDFs below show a number of these high performance doors, and we can advise further if you need guidance, simply give us a call.
